Frequently asked questions

Accounts, anonymity, reports, data: answers to the most common questions.

Who monitors the health facilities?

In each health area, a health committee made up of CODESA members identified and trained by CERC regularly visits the facilities with HealthCheck. Patients, patient attendants, carers, doctors, civil society and NGOs with a validated account can also report a problem.

What is a health committee?

It is a group of members of the CODESA (health area development committee) trained by CERC in citizen monitoring. It follows the health facilities in its area, reports problems and engages with those in charge until they are resolved.

How do I open an account?

Fill in the “Open an account” form with your phone number. CERC checks your request and sends you your login details by SMS, or by email if you provided one.

Will my name be published?

No. Public pages only show your profile (patient, CODESA member…). Your name and phone number are known only to CERC.

What happens to my report?

CERC verifies it before publication. It is then published on the facility’s page, the management is informed, and the problem is followed up until it is corrected and then resolved, as confirmed on site.

Can I report several problems at once?

Yes. In the form, click “Add another problem”: each problem has its own description and photos.

Can I attach photos?

Yes, up to 3 per problem, provided that no person and no document bearing a name can be identified in them.

What happens in a serious case?

A patient detained over an unpaid bill, for example, immediately alerts CERC, which verifies the situation before anything is published.

Is the data accessible?

Yes. The dashboard presents figures by province and by category. The Ministry of Health and partners can download the data, which contains no personal data whatsoever.

Another question?

The CERC team will answer you.
