Looking ahead
Towards a national network for citizen monitoring of health
HealthCheck aims to make every user a stakeholder in the quality of care, and every reported problem an opportunity for verified improvement.
- 6types of facilities monitored
- 11areas checked
- 26provinces of the DRC
What we want to see
Concrete changes for patients
Prices displayed and respected
Every patient knows the cost of care and gets a receipt.
Medicines available
Essential medicines are in stock, and free products are never sold.
Patients treated with dignity
No one is held over an unpaid bill; emergencies come before payment.
Verified, public fixes
Every reported problem is followed until its fix is confirmed on site.
Our priorities
Three priority areas of work
- 01
A health committee in every health area
Identify and train CODESA members in every health area, and equip their health committees with HealthCheck, in cooperation with the health zones.
- 02
A protected voice for professionals
Enable nurses, midwives and doctors to report system failures in full confidentiality: stock-outs, unpaid salaries, pressure.
- 03
Data to inform decisions
Provide the Ministry of Health and partners with reliable indicators to guide priorities and budgets.
Let’s build this network together
Users, facilities, partners, authorities: join the movement.
