Cholera response 2026 17.2 M USD reported to OCHA Change
Cholera response 2026
Funds of the cholera response in the DRC in 2026: flows reported to OCHA whose description mentions cholera. According to UNICEF, the 2025 outbreak was the worst in 25 years; WHO counts 83,266 cases and 2,384 deaths between early 2025 and late February 2026. The 2023-2027 multisectoral cholera elimination plan, costed at USD 192 million, remains severely underfunded (UNICEF).

How HealthCheck follows the money
- Donors declare what they funded, to whom they entrusted it and for what purpose.
- International and local organisations declare what they received, passed on and delivered.
- Health facilities declare what actually reached them and how they used it.
- The community and CERC compare the declarations, publish contracts and budgets, and check on the ground that every dollar reaches the patients.

No public source says what the health facilities received from this funding or what they did with it. Only the facilities themselves can say it: their declarations on HealthCheck will appear here.
The last mile: does it reach the health facilities?
No official source goes down to the health facilities: OCHA and USAspending stop at the organisations. That is where HealthCheck comes in: facilities, donors and agencies declare what reached which facility, and the community checks it on the ground.

Sources: OCHA Financial Tracking Service (fts.unocha.org) and USAspending.gov, public data. FTS flows to the DRC whose description mentions « choléra », « cholera », excluding EBOLA2026; US awards whose description mentions « cholera ». Amounts as reported by the organisations, not verified by CERC. A difference between sources is not a proof of misuse.

Health facilities declare what they received, from whom, and how they used it.
Donors, agencies and NGOs declare what they funded and for which facility, with the contract and the budget.
HealthCheck compares both sides: every gap becomes visible.
